The Dairy Council’s ‘Got Milk’ ad campaign still remains today one of the most famous and costly campaigns in history. It was so successful convincing Americans that cow’s milk was nature’s perfect food, that until recently, few critical scientific evaluations of dairy consumption and human health ever penetrated the media or gained public acceptance to counter the pro-dairy agenda. The result in the Western World is that the general public has come to rely on dairy as an integral part of their daily diet.
We may have been left alone to indulge to our heart’s content in our dairy obsession of cheese, butter, yogurt, milk, ice cream, whipped cream, milkshakes….. except something new started to emerge. 1,200 Americans every minute were dying of cancer. In the last several years our diet and lifestyle has become the prime suspect in these ever climbing numbers. In 90% of cancers genetics has been ruled out. Once the discovery was announced, the research hunt has been on to find which foods in our diet contribute the most to the growth of cancer cells. Much progress has been made. Dairy, both organic, non-organic and low fat, has been strongly red flagged.
Scientists have found that commercial dairy milk plays a large part in the heightened risk of ovarian, breast, uterine and prostate cancer….all hormone-dependant tumors. The principal reason is that commercial dairies now milk their cows about 300 days per year. For much of that time the cows are pregnant, and as the pregnancy progresses, the estrogen content of their milk increases. Cancer cells LOVE estrogen.
Before industrial farming a cow was never pregnant and providing milk at the same time, year after year. Today our food is all about economics.
If you follow my story, then you know I am a uterine cancer survivor who once consumed butter, cheese, and whipped cream like the world may end. Uterine tumors are hormone dependent cancers.

Overnight I switched to raw almond milk and learned to make it at home. Advertising will tell you that removing dairy products from the diet is easier than ever. That today there are many vegan dairy products on the market. Yet too often dairy alternatives are filled with chemicals, hidden sugars and additives.
In the case of commercial almond milk it is found that one quart of liquid is made from only 2 tablespoons of almonds. The rest is water, chemical fillers and thickeners. One of those chemical thickeners is carrageenan. It has been linked to stomach cancer.
If you want to heal from any chronic disease it is imperative that you consume only organic, nutrient dense foods that are free of toxins. Pasteurized, boxed almond milk does not come close to being a quality whole food close to Nature. Making your own fresh almond milk is so much easier then you may think.
HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE CLEAN ALMOND MILK
What You’ll Need:
> A high powered blender
> A nut milk bag
> 1 cup organic raw almonds (soaked over night)
> 3 cups filtered water
> Medium size bowl
Drain the soaked almonds and add to the blender. Cover them with one cup of the water. Blend on high till the mixture is creamy. Add the rest of the water and blend again. Pour the liquid through the nut milk bag held over the bowl. Hold the nut milk bag with one hand and squeeze all the liquid out.
Voila! You have fresh clean almond milk. Store for up to 3 days in the fridge in a glass jar.
