Unfortunately high heat also destroys all of the important nutrients as well. The ‘box’ also lists ‘carrageenan’ as an ingredient. This ubiquitous additive is heavily red flagged for cancer. Dr. Andrew Weil states that “carrageenan has been found to cause ulcerations and cancers in the gastrointestinal tract”. ‘Box’ almond milk also carries synthetic vitamins, so unnecessary, since raw almonds carry their own share of natural vitamins.
